Who am I?

I'm Molly Saeger, LMFT

Expert Divorce Coach & Coparent Strategist®

I've been working in the field of divorce for over twenty years professionally.  46 years personally.  I was 7 when my parents divorced and looking back, impressed (and grateful) with how well they managed the process.  I've also survived and been extremely humbled by my own divorce with a 5 year old (now 17!) who is thriving.

I know how hard divorce is on so many levels.

I founded coparentingWELL, LLC, in hopes of meeting the varying needs of many uncoupled, separated, and divorced parents all over the country who need help rebuilding their coparenting relationship to create structure and stability for their children - despite any level of conflict.  I can help you individually, or with your coparent; work with attorneys and mediators; and/or guide you through my online course.

In addition, most divorce mediators and attorneys would agree that the less overt conflict there is between parents, the better off  their child(ren) will be.  And if you are currently going through this process or considering separation, it may be very useful to know what to expect each step of the way and how to process all the varying decisions.

How might I be able to help?

Because conflict is inherent in separation and divorce, particularly when there are minor children involved, coparenting can be very difficult at times.  And level of conflict is the number one indicator in regards to how children will manage emotionally during and after a divorce.

I specialize in coparenting relationship issues, helping couple's separate, agree on schedules, parenting agreements/plans, and child development. I have also worked closely with lawyers and mediators, advising them on ideas that help with settlement agreements that impact parenting and children. I'm very familiar in working with Parent Coordinators and navigating high conflict issues as well.

If you need help thinking about the complex issues that divorce creates, I can help.  I will help you consider the choices in front of you, think through them, and make agreements or develop a plan of action in the most thoughtful way.  I also help parents consider what is developmentally appropriate for their kids and make recommendations that will work and grow with them.

Developing a strategy and process for addressing coparenting issues will be very important in creating peace and moving forward in your life.

And finally, why?

Your commitment to creating the most secure, thoughtful coparenting relationship and agreements for your family will help alleviate frustration and the feelings of guilt, overwhelm and worry that accompany divorce.

It can provide a foundation on which to build upon again and will be more relevant to your current situation.  Whether it's coparenting or parallel parenting or something in between, it helps to have agreements between parents who share in the responsibility of raising their kids.

You'll find I'm warm-hearted, understanding, no-nonsense, and realistic.  My 25 years of clinical experience also lends expertise in infant, child and adolescent development, trauma, personality disorders, and family systems. In addition, I have a coaching accreditation from Clini-Coach Academy - the only coaching academy in the US that solely works with licensed clinicians.  When you and I decide to work together, it will be for coaching and not therapy.  However, my nearly 25 years of clinical experience is a bonus for all the coparenting work that is needed when one has children!

This knowledge helps coparents as well as family law attorneys design agreements that not only work for them but also keeps in mind their children's best interests.  In addition, I have also been trained as a divorce mediator and worked in collaborative divorces before focusing exclusively on coparent strategies and coaching. (Please also note, I no longer do Parent Coordination (Special Masters), nor  recommending mediation at this time.)

My divorce coaching specialty and practice is separate from my private practice, but you can read more about my clinical experience there as it may relate to the guidance you need at this time, especially if your kids have special needs, are twice exceptional or neurodivergent.
